Another voice: Biestmilch? Can’t be! Cyclists would ingest anything to cycle harder!
In the Sunday Herald – Glasgow,Scotland,UK of this week I found this rather ironic comment on our beloved biestmilch/colostrum. Why is it so difficult for people to understand that a substance made for babies to survive and subsequently lead a healthier life is good for us adults as well?
Here the short comment which gets almost everything wrong about biestmilch/colostrum, you can get wrong! Never mind, if it were entertaining, but I think it is not. It is boring and rather stupid. But the quote shows how difficult it is for biestmilch/colostrum to gain sympathizers.
»The very latest thing in athletic performance enhancement was unveiled this week: cow lactation.
According to a report in the British Journal of Sports Medicine, a study suggests bovine colostrum – a nutrient-rich “pre-milk” produced by cows shortly after giving birth – may provide increased athletic endurance during high-intensity training.
It seems this milk is high in protein, as well as antibodies vital to the development of the immune system.
Researchers had feared the study wouldn’t get off the ground due to a lack of willing volunteers. Fortunately they were approached by 29 male road cyclists who jumped at the chance of five weeks of intensive consumption. The diary wonders: is there anything these guys won’t ingest to cycle harder?
Whom does it serve, this comment? Does it give anybody any information? It seems, the remark was only made to ridicule cyclists, to pinpoint them as drug addicts. Does this make any sense, is it amuzing? I think it is not, because it is not written well enough. If it were good, okay then, but it is not. What do you think? Do you think it is humorous?
