Even if Chris is not winning he is the star. In New Orleans' Ironman 70.3 he came in second. This did not affect his being the center of attention at all.

Chris McCormack about his personal shift of focus and about his training for the 2009 race season
»Perfect practice makes perfect«

»Perfect practice makes perfect«

On Thursday I had this telephone talk with Chris. We were talking about training issues, about the racing season 2009, and about his very personal views on life and his sport. If you listen to this conversation you hear an incredible relaxed and sincere Chris McCormack. From his words you can learn a lot what it takes to grow older as a pro athlete, how to adjust to this inevitable fact. As a young guy he had to prove himself to others, today he wants to prove to himself that he can deliver the perfect race for himself. Up to now he says, he did not experience this perfect race that you will keep in mind for ever. [audio:http://biestmilch.com/pulp-research/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/chris-interview_12_05-03-09.mp3]
After-race interview with Chris McCormack: »failure would have been better«
Ironman world championship, Kona, Hawaii 2008. First time in his long triathlon career Macca had to quit a race because of a mechanical defect. He says that he would have preferred a failure instead. He was not able to prove to himself whether the preparation for the most important race of the year has been good enough to beat his competitors and defend his title.

Did you meet the biest on the Island?
Here our prerace podcast from Friday Oct. 10, 2008. We have been at the bike check-in by the pier in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. The aim of our stay was to spread the biest on the Island, I think we succeeded to do so. This will be one of our last reports from the Island. We keep you posted.

Shooting the »Lost Bottle Spot«
Today we met at turtle beach in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii for shooting the lost bottle spot. The story refers back to our disaster from last year, where we did not receive any goods from home. Only 3 boosters left we had stand through a tough time on this island, it was a mission impossible, not accomplished. Before we left we gave our last booster to island's gods. I think this helped us this year, all our things have finally arrived. Part of it, the swim caps you see on the photos from the set below. Our protagonists from last year Chris McCormack and Nicole Leder, who accompany and support Biestmilch for many years have been with us again, moreover Frank Vytrisal, Meike Krebs and Daniel Schmoll, the newcomers on the team. It was fun and serious at the same time. Today's final result you can watch on our site and on Youtube after our arrival back home in round about 3 to 4 weeks. Here some stills from today's work to give you a vague idea of what we did. gruppe The Group: Meike, Daniel, Nicole, Frank and Chris chris Nicole and Chris
